Delhi High Court Issues Notice to Centre Over Plea to Equalise Legal Age of Marriage for Both Genders - 20.08.2019

Delhi High Court has sought reply from the Centre on a Public Interest Litigation/PIL seeking equalising of the legal age of marriage for men and women. The Court issued a notice to the Centre on a PIL which says the limit of 18 years for a woman to get married amounts to "blatant discrimination" while men in India are permitted to get married at the age of 21.
