Cable TV Services in Urban Areas to be digital from New Year

The Telecom and Regulatory Authority of India has reiterated impending Phase III of its four Phase program to digitize television broadcasts in India. 31st December, 2015 marks the last day on which analog cable TV can be transmitted in all urban areas that were not covered under Phases I and II. Digitized services require a consumer to install a set top box in order to receive television signals. The fourth and final stage, covering the rest of India, is set for 31st December, 2016.
