Atomic Energy (Amendment) Bill, 2015
A Bill, amending the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 has been introduced in the Lok Sabha. The Atomic Energy (Amendment) Bill, 2015 manifests from the government’s desire to encourage setting up of new nuclear projects and invite funds from non-governmental sources. It will widen the scope on which companies, though still likely restricted to public sector undertakings, can partake in joint ventures to establish nuclear power plants.
