Madras High Court Dismisses Law Teacher's Request to Appear in District Judge Examination - 18.06.2019

Madras High Court has dismissed a petition filed by a law teacher seeking directions to amend the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules, 2017 to allow him to appear in the examination for selection of District Judges. According to the Petitioner, he had seven years of practice as an advocate before joining teaching profession, and therefore he met the qualification under Article 233(2) of the Constitution of India, 1950.
