Indian Railways Issues Letter of Award for Setting Up of Diesel Locomotive to GE Global Sourcing India Pvt. Limited

Indian Railways awarded GE Global Sourcing India Private Limited a Letter of Award to set up a Diesel Locomotive Factory in Bihar. In furtherance to its motivations of decentralization and deregulation of the Indian Railways, the award also includes procurement and maintenance of Diesel Electric Locomotives. The project will be conducted under the auspices of a joint venture between GE Global Sourcing India Pvt. Ltd and Indian Railways, with the Ministry of Railways holding 26 per cent of equity in the new company.
