Supreme Court extends time for NJAC suggestions

The Supreme Court of India extended the time available for putting forth suggestions to constitute a more transparent collegiate system for selection of judges to the close of business on 13 November 2015. It also acceded to the Attorney General’s offers of issuing a public notice seeking thoughts on the issue and web-hosting a compilation of recommendations received in four categories: transparency, collegium secretariat, eligibility criteria and complaints; the Attorney General added a fifth, ‘Miscellaneous’ category for the many suggestions that could not be included in the other categories.
