Draft Factories (Amendment) Act, 2015

The Ministry of Labour and Employment proposed a draft Factories (Amendment) Act, 2015 after making changes to an earlier Bill, 2014. The draft Act bases its objectives as ensuring work place safety through “effective, curative measures” that “foster an eco-system favourable to setting up of factories” – some say conflicting, perhaps mutually exclusive, goals.
