RBI invites Applications for authorising Bharat Bill Payment System Operating Units

Reserve Bank of India has invited applications for authorization from entities engaged in bill payments and wishing to operate as a ‘Bharat Bill Payment System Operating Unit” under the ‘Bharat Bill Payment System’. Entities authorised under the new System will facilitate collection of repetitive payments for utility services like electricity and water. Those that are currently engaged in such collections are mandated to apply for authorization. Applications will be accepted till 20 November 2015.
