20 per cent growth in domestic airlines' passenger numbers

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has released figures on performance of domestic airlines for 2015 for 2015. Total domestic passengers flying on scheduled airlines showed substantial growth from 2014. Passenger numbers were up from 153 lakhs in the first quarter of 2014 to 185 lakh for 2015; second quarter results increased from 170 lakh to 202 lakh for 2014 and 2015, respectively. The Report provides various other performances metrics, such as on-time performance, frequency of cancellations and customer complaints.
