‘VIKALP’ – Scheme to provide accommodation to waitlisted train passengers

Ministry of Railways will commence a pilot scheme from 1.11.2015 to provide confirmed accommodation to waitlisted passengers. Run for a period of six months, the Alternate Train Accommodation Scheme, will be available on tickets purchased over the internet between the Delhi-Lucknow and Delhi-Jammu routes of the Northern Railway. Passengers who opt into the scheme remaining fully waitlisted after charting will only be considered for allotment in the alternate train. Accordingly, a separate list of passengers in alternate trains will be pasted along with the ‘Confirmed’ and ‘Waitlisted’ charts.
