Review of the capacity planning framework of stock exchanges and clearing corporations

MANU/SSMD/0016/2015

Due to an increase in trading volume resulting from a growth of the stock market, the Securities and Exchange Board of India has reiterated the need for stock exchanges and clearing corporations to maintain sufficient capacity to be able to handle the increased demand. Some of new directions with regards to capacity are: installed capacity being at least one and a half times of projected peak load; and all software and hardware needs to be adequately sized to meet the requirements.
