Highlights of Telecom Subscription Data on 31 July, 2015

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India released subscription data for the period ending 31 July, 2015. The total number of telephone subscribers continued its steady growth at 2.36 per cent from the end of June, 2015, with other metrics also following their recent trends, such as decreasing landline users, increasing numbers of broadband internet subscribers. The number of requests for mobile number portability stood at over 85 lakhs for the month. With an ever larger wireless consumer base, TRAI has introduced several proposals to reduce the incidence of dropped calls and improve the quality of calls.
