Islamic Feminism: India's All-Woman Sharia Court Providing Counselling and Justice to Muslim Women - 22.01.2018

This 100 square feet room in Jaipur has been a ray of hope for many distraught Muslim women. Since 2015, this all-woman Shariah Court has decided matters ranging from petty family and domestic issues to that of Talaq and Halala which have frequently led to the harassment of Muslim women in the country. The Court which under law is an Alternate Dispute Redressal mechanism also ensures that cases of criminal nature are reported to authorities so that action is taken.
