SC: Accused Entitled to Bail for Offence with Upto 10 Yrs Jail, If Police Fails to File Charge Sheet - 17.08.2017

Supreme Court has held that an accused is entitled to statutory bail u/s 167(2)(a)(2) of Code of Criminal procedure if the police failed to file charge-sheet within 60 days of his arrest for offence punishable with ‘imprisonment up to 10 years'.
