Rs. 7,000 crore penalty imposed on PACL Ltd.

SEBI imposed a penalty of Rs. 7,269 crores on PACL Ltd. and its directors for its violations in the securities market. The order is in furtherance to its previous directions to return nearly Rs. 50,000 crores to investors in light of “illegal money mobilization”. The fresh penalty is three times the quantum of profits earned by PACL Ltd. between September, 2013 and June, 2014.
